Which mindset type are you? ๐ง

Have you ever wondered what exactly is meant by the term "mindset"? ๐ง
A mindset is a set of beliefs held by a person or group of people. It is closely related to a person's worldview or philosophy of life.
A deeply anchored mindset can be a strong incentive to continue to accept or even adopt certain behaviours.
Next, let's have a look at the difference between a fixed vs. growth mindset. ๐ค
Fixed mindset - In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success - without effort.
Growth mindset - In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work - brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.
Let's have a look at an example: You have been booked as a keynote speaker for the first time. Although you have practiced a lot, you have a blackout on stage and the speech goes terribly wrong. ๐คฏ
In a fixed mindset, you will feel like all your effort was wasted. Next time someone asks for your help regarding a keynote speech, you probably tell them youโre not the right person. Instead, youโll focus on stuff you know youโre good at.
In a growth mindset - while a failed keynote speech still sucks - you are grateful for everything you got to learn. Because you focus on the process, the outcome doesnโt matter as much. You see this failure as a temporary setback and an opportunity for personal growth.
The underlying idea of this concept is that what is commonly called intelligence or talent can gradually "grow" with the help of hard work, positivity and resilience.
Now it's time for a little self-reflection! - What kind of mindset do you think you have? ๐ค๐
